BeakerWise credits
This page names the work of others in BeakerWise (BeakerWise: The Real Science Lab): the files, the data, the curriculum text, the software and the voice model. It also names our own work. It is free to read, with no login.
- These third-party files keep their own licences. The store terms do not limit your rights under the licences of the third-party material listed here.
- The developer and publisher is dav3studios.
- The app names no exam board. Where a fact comes from an exam board's practical handbook, the app names the source "School practical handbooks". No exam board made, checked or approved BeakerWise.

The credits in the app
The app shows this text under Grown-ups > Credits (content/legal.json).
- Data. Atomic lines: NIST Atomic Spectra Database (ver. 5.12), Kramida, Ralchenko, Reader and NIST ASD Team, 2024. Thermophysical data: NIST Chemistry WebBook (SRD 69). Physical constants: CODATA 2022, NIST. Water and ice: IAPWS releases. Chemical data: PubChem and the Hazardous Substances Data Bank, US National Library of Medicine. Colour matching: nine single values of the CIE 1931 2-degree colour-matching functions, from CIE 2019, "Colour-matching functions of CIE 1931 standard colorimetric observer", doi:10.25039/CIE.DS.xvudnb9b, https://files.cie.co.at/Publications-datasets/CIE_xyz_1931_2deg.csv. One is the table row at 380 nm. The other eight are at the flame-line wavelengths: we worked them out between two rows of the table (linear interpolation). They are single measured values, cited as facts. The CIE table itself (CC BY-SA 4.0) is not copied into the app. sRGB conversion: W3C CSS Color 4. - Software. Made with the Godot Engine (MIT licence), the Godot OpenXR Vendors plugin and the Godot Meta Toolkit (both MIT), with Meta's Platform SDK loader, the Khronos OpenXR loader (Apache 2.0), the LLVM libc++ library, and AndroidX and Kotlin libraries (Apache 2.0). Their licences ask for notices in every copy: see "Software notices" below.
The voice
Every spoken line is a recording that we made with a computer voice: the Kokoro-82M text-to-speech model (hexgrad, Apache License 2.0, https://github.com/hexgrad/kokoro/blob/main/LICENSE), voice bm_george. No person recorded the lines. The model itself is not in the app.
Fonts
Atkinson Hyperlegible by the Braille Institute of America, also as "Ux Reading" with a plain zero, and Andika by SIL International. Both are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (https://openfontlicense.org). The licence text of each font is in the app next to the font file.
Sources of the facts
The measured values in the app come from source pages, and the "How we know" card of each experiment names its sources. Our checking tool found a quote for each of these facts on its source page. Not every number is measured: 93 of the 104 experiments also use estimates or values chosen for the activity (for example the power of a warm plate). The app marks them: the label on each experiment says when some values are estimates, and the "How we know" card lists each estimate. We name these bodies and authors as sources only. They did not make, check or approve BeakerWise. The source names that the app shows:

Software in the app
The app is made with the Godot Engine and other software. Their licences ask for their notices in every copy. The full notices and licence texts are in the app, under Grown-ups > Credits > Software notices. The app reads Godot's notices from the engine itself, so they match the engine in the app.
